Frequently Asked Questions

Unlock the power of your strengths to accelerate your performance, increase your fulfillment, and deepen your life’s satisfaction.

The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as an ongoing partnership that helps clients produce fulfilling results in their personal and professional lives.  Through the process of coaching, clients deepen their learning, improve their performance, and enhance their quality of life.  People hire a coach when they are starting a new business, making a career transition, re-evaluating their life choices, feeling out of balance, or simply ready for a personal or professional breakthrough.  Coaching concentrates on getting clients from where they are today to where they want to be tomorrow.

Strength Coaching provides a unique focus on personal development coaching.  We all have a combination of strengths that set us apart and make us unique.  Strength Coaching goes well beyond the exploration of what your strengths mean.  It helps to unlock the power of them to accelerate your performance and growth in remarkable ways.  Strength Coaching is not therapy. It is not about fixing weaknesses.  It is not about giving you advice to change things in your life.  It is about you seeing and intentionally using your strengths as tools through which you increasingly transform your work and life into one of deeper contribution, and increased performance and satisfaction.  The client will need to take the Clifton StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessment.  It is optimal to have the full 34 Theme report but it is acceptable to use only the Top 5.  You can find the assessment by clicking on the following link: https://www.gallupstrengthscenter.com/Purchase/en-US/Product?Path=Clifton%20StrengthsFinder

In their quest to better understand the nature of success, Don Clifton and Marcus Buckingham conducted over 2 million interviews to elicit understanding and information about the patterns of strengths that contributed to successful outcomes. Eventually, they uncovered over 250 different patterns of talent, which became the mathematical framework of the StrengthsFinder assessment.  Those 250 patterns of talent statistically reduced into 34 themes of talent, or what came to be known as the StrengthsFinder themes.

If we are meeting via the phone, please call me at 612-803-6605, at our designated time. Coaching sessions are structured to respond to your goals, your life experiences, and your needs. Be prepared to bring your desired subject or situation each time you meet.  The situation you bring to our coaching sessions will become the laboratory through which you will explore your untapped potential and apply your strengths.  Be willing to put your walls down, be open, and explore what is happening for you so that you can see and learn from it.  Be willing to suspend all judgment of yourself or your coach, since judgment interferes with learning-no one gets to be wrong.  If you feel frustrated or have a need please take responsibility for that need and make a request.
